21/03/2011

In todays session, I completed my booklet and storyboards, and did a proof copy of the booklet in black and white to check the quality of the prints. This turned out to be very positive as it confirmed the quality of the booklet to be of a high standard, this was a good idea to do as it could have potentially saved money if anything had been wrong with the print and if it had been done in colour, it would have cost a lot more.

To Do...
  • Print the Storyboards from term one on A3
  • Print and Bind the Booklet
  • Put all of my work onto a disk (Storyboards, Booklet and a link to my blog)
DEADLINE - 8th April 2011

Completed Front Cover

This is the completed front cover for my booklet...

Planning...

My intentions for progressing with my project, is to create my page content. However i've decided that i am no longer happy with my fabric samples and the quality of swatch. Also, after carrying out research into trend forecasts through sites such as WGSN, i have come to realise that my collection isn't as appropriate as it could be. Therefore i will be making slight alterations to my work so far.

Planning the pages for the booklet..

1.Front Cover
2.Contents
3.Introduction to Next
4. Fabric Swatches
5.Images relating to trend research
6.Garments
7.Garments
8.Garments
9.Garments
10.Garments
11.Garments
12.Summary
13.Appendix
14.Back Cover

The Booklet needs to reflect the identity or next, and appropriately and professionally present that particular seasons garments.

Progress so far . . .

Since i last posted on my blog, i have been experimenting with ranges and the application of a swatch to the garments.

I have also planned the information and specifications to go alongside the garment, information that i feel is required, is
  1. garment description
  2. size availability
  3. colours
  4. fabrics
  5. price
I have been planning out pages for my brochure, and what information is required within it. I have also looked at page layout margins, number of pages as well as various other details.

Next Layout

I have re-created a layout associated to Next that i think would look good to present the collection on, as a general layout to relate to the brand.
